Bhindi Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 No. Chopped Green Chilli
  • 1 No. Chopped Onion (Medium Size)
  • 1 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 300 gms Bhindi
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 Tsp Dry Mango Amchur Powder
  • 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder (Optional)
  • Finely Chopped Coriander leaves

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
  • Next, add green chilli and chopped onion. Cook for 2 mins on a low flame.
  • Add turmeric powder, mix well.
  • Next, add the bhindi and cook for 5-6 minutes on a medium flame. Stir when required.
  • Finally, add salt, coriander powder and dry mango (amchur) powder.
  • Mix well. Cover and cook till done. Stir when required.
  • Switch off the flame. Add coriander powder and lime juice. Mix well.
  • Serve hot with roti or paratha. This also tastes good with dal and rice.

Notes

• Cooks best in a heavy bottom or a non-stick pan/kadai.
• Always adjust spices as per your taste. Covering the lid makes cooking faster.
• Always wash, dry and cut bhindi beforehand.
• Cut bhindi only when it is properly dried.
