In a mixing bowl add whole wheat flour, gram flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt, sugar, finely chopped green chilli, finely chopped onion, grated lauki, oil and lime juice.
Mix everything well together.
Add fruit salt (eno) and water and mix well to form a soft dough.
Apply oil over dough and let it rest for 10 mins.
Meanwhile, prepare the steamer by boiling water and greasing steaming tray.
After the dough is well rested, divide it into two equal portions.
Form a cylindrical shape and place them on a steamer plate.
Steam for 20 – 25 mins on a high flame.
Do a knife test. Insert a knife into muthia, if it comes out clean it indicates muthias are well cooked from inside.
Bring muthias out from steamer and let it cool.
Cut into discs.
