Oats Dosa Recipe
Oats dosa recipe is healthy and nutritious. It is easy to make and does not require any pre-planning. It can be prepared using only a few ingredients usually available at home. There are many health benefits of eating oats and this recipe makes it easy to have a healthy yet tasty breakfast.
On the days when I haven’t planned my meals, this oats dosa recipe comes handy. This also makes for a good brunch on weekends or a weekday dinner. I keep working on such healthy breakfast ideas.
Oats can be used in many ways but since my family is fond of dosas I use it in this form mostly. This is the most featured dish on my weekly menu plan. The best part is that it is easy, quick, healthy and delicious. What more can I ask for? It is gluten-free and had many health benefits as well.

What kind of oats to be used for this recipe -
I use rolled oats from the brand quaker and grind into a fine powder for this recipe. You can also use oatmeal or Instant oats to prepare the dosa.
How to Prepare -
Grind rolled oats into a fine powder. Mix other ingredients and let it rest for about 20 mins.
How to Make Oats Dosa at home –
Mix all the ingredients well. Let the batter rest for 20 mins so that it absorbs liquid and increase in volume. Add more water to get flowing consistency. Prepare dosa using the batter.

How to serve Oats Dosa -
I like to serve oats dosa with either tomato chutney or coconut chutney along with sambar (a lentil and veggie stew). If running out of the time you can also serve it with quick coconut chutney only.
How to make a perfect dosa –
Heat dosa tawa till it starts to smoke. Brush oil and sprinkle water. If water starts to bubble immediately, it means tawa is ready. Wipe off excess water using half-cut onion or kitchen towel. (Watch the video for better understanding).
On a high heat pour dosa batter and spread outwards in a circular motion. Lower the flame and let it cook till the upper part is dried up. Pour oil/butter/ghee and spread all over. Turn the heat to high and cook till the dosa is nice and crisp. Fold and serve hot.
Step by Step Instant Oats Dosa Recipe -
• Grind rolled oats into a fine powder. Transfer it to a mixing bowl.
• To the oats add rava, rice flour, curd, water (as required) and salt.
• Mix everything well together.
• Cover and let it rest for 20 mins (approx.). The dosa batter will soak the water and increase in volume.
• Next, add water to adjust the consistency. It should be flowing consistency.
• Heat dosa tawa till it starts to smoke. Pour oil and sprinkle some water, it should start bubbling immediately. (Watch the video for better understanding).
• Wipe off the excess water using a kitchen towel or tissue.
• On high heat, pour the batter and spread it outwards in a circular motion.
• Lower the heat and let it cook till upper part is dried up.
• Pour oil, ghee or butter. Spread evenly.
• Switch the heat to high and cook till the dosa is crisp brown from the bottom.
• Fold and serve hot.

- Rava/Sooji/Semolina - 1/2 Cup
- Rice Flour - 1/4th Cup
- Curd - 1/2 Cup
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
- Oil/ Ghee/Butter
