Taste of Punjab

Punjabis are known for their affectionate and friendly nature, delicious food, full of fun, being alive and always in the mood for a party. Born and brought up in Punjabi family, when I shifted to Pune I so missed that vibe and culture. On my recent visit to ‘Taste of Punjab,’ I relived the memories of my various visits in Punjab.

This place serves buffet at a very reasonable price, which includes a three-course menu and multiple varieties of cuisines that can be enjoyed without burning a hole in your pocket. The starters are served on the table, while there are different live counters as well. The very essential and every Indian’s favorite Chat Corner, Paratha corner and Dosa corner are here as well. For foodies like me who enjoys Dosa at any time of the day is also treated with their favorites. Various Indian desserts and kesar milk to end the lovely meal with, Just like a Punjabi.

The food started with the lassi in a huge glass which again reminded me of Punjab.

Paneer Kalimirchi Tikka – The soft and fresh paneer well marinated and cooked with the kick of kali mirch (black pepper). The preparation was the combination of creamy and spicy. I liked the flavors.

Khatte Meethe Tawa Aloo

Khatte Meethe Tawa Aloo – I don’t like sweet in savory food and hence this dish didn’t impress me much. Though would love to try the spicy version of tandoori aloo.

Paneer Cheese Roll – Crisp fried covering with creamy, cheesy filling. Simply loved it.

Veg Chilly Milly Kebab

A meal is never complete without some portion of added desserts to it. Among various placed desserts I tried gulab jamun and rabdi which gave a perfecting ending to a meal. I also tried Kesar wala milk but it was little too sweet for my liking.
