Butter herbed baked potatoes is an ultimately satisfying dish. It is healthy, delicious and easy to cook. Baked potatoes can be served as a side dish with any meal, can be added in salad recipes or as a starter for the party. This dish is a hit at my place at every party. It just needs to be mixed with butter and herbs and let it rest, put in the oven 30 mins prior to serving. Not only kids but adults enjoy it as much.
Potatoes are such a versatile vegetable which goes well with any types of herbs and spices. Baked potatoes also make a great snack during tea time or even for kid’s lunch box.

How to prepare for a baked potato –
All we need is boiled potatoes for this recipe. Make sure the potatoes are not overdone else it won’t give the desired taste to the recipe. Keep ready all the herbs and spices of your choice and preheat the oven while to mix in the ingredients. The best part is we can give any flavours to the dish like Italian, Chinese, Indian Thai by using different spices, herbs and sauces.
Not much preparation other than this is required for this recipe.
How to make Baked Potatoes –
Boil potatoes till just done. Let it cool and press them in between palms. Mix herbs, spices and butter with potatoes and bake. Tadaa! Baked potatoes are ready to be enjoyed.
What kind of potatoes can be used –
Almost any kind of potatoes goes well with this recipe. However, depending on the size of the potatoes it might need to be cut or diced into pieces. As certain potatoes taste slightly sweet in taste like sweet potatoes and a few others, adjust the spices accordingly.

This dish is a hit at my place at every party. – Baby Potatoes , Water to boil, Butter, Cajun Spice ((Optional)), Oregano, Red Chilli Flakes, Finely Chopped Coriander leaves, Roughly Chopped Basil leaves, Salt & Pepper, Boil Potatoes : 1. Add potatoes in pressure cooker with enough water. Cook for 2-3 whistles or till just done.; 2. Open the pressure cooker only when steam is released by itself.; 3. Do a knife test (slide the knife in a potato and it should come out clean). Potatoes should not be over cooked. Let them cool.; Mixing and Baking –: 1. Gently press the potatoes in between palms (watch video).; 2. Add butter, spices and herbs and salt. ; 3. Mix well and make sure potatoes are well coated with spices and herbs.; 4. Place potatoes in a greased baking tray (or line tray with foil or parchment paper).; 5. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 °C till brown and crisp.; Procedure to cook without oven – : 1. Roast potatoes in a pre-heated pan on a low flame till brown and crisp.; Bake in Pressure Cooker – : Place potatoes in a steel container. Place salt and steel ring at the bottom of the cooker and preheat for 10mins. Place the potato container over the ring once cooker is pre-heated and cook for about 30 mins or till done, on a low flame.; – <strong>Tips & Tricks– </strong>
