Masala Chaas is a healthy Indian drink prepared using yogurt or curd, flavoured with few Indian spices and herbs.
It is digestive and makes for a great refreshing drink. The best part is, that it comes together in no time.
It is very important to keep ourselves hydrated especially during summers. When it’s very hot and humid we like to eat food, which is light on tummy and refreshing.
A glass full of Masala chaas, after a heavy meal helps preventing bloating or any gastric issues.

How to prepare for Masala Chaach Recipe –
The most important ingredient to make chaas is yogurt or curd.
I prefer to use fresh homemade curd for its health benefit. Although you can also use store-bought curd.
If using homemade curd, make sure to set the curd a night before so you get it ready the next morning.
Roast and grind cumin seeds to make a fine powder. Finely chop fresh coriander leaves.
How to set curd at home?
Boil full fat milk. Let it cool down and bring to luke warm temperature. Use a fork to help it cool and make it frothy.
Add a Tsp of curd and give it a nice stir. Let it rest overnight or 6-7 hours
depending on the climatic conditions. The more the hotter the lesser the time it will take to set.
How to make Masala Chaas at Home –
Add in all the ingredients and blend.
Things to keep in mind while making Masala Taak –
1. Do not blend the curd a lot, else it will start leaving cream.
2. Do not serve it too chilled, else it might affect the throat.
3. Use fresh curd as its healthier.
Step by Step Recipe of Masala Chaas –
1. In a blender jar, add curd, coriander leaves, mint, ginger, salt and black salt.
2. Blend everything well.
3. Add water as per required consistency.
4. Give it a blend.
5. Serve fresh.
How to serve Masala Chaas –
Masala chaas is a perfect drink after meals, it helps prevent bloating, indigestion and improves gut health.
You can include it with your meals during lunch or have it at any time of the day as a healthy drink, preferably before sunset.
As per Ayurveda it is not suggested to have curd after sunset as it does not suit the body and increases cough.

- 1 Cup Curd
- 1 Tbsp Coriander
- 1 Tbsp Mint & Ginger
- Water as required
- Salt to taste
- 1 Tsp Roasted Cumin Powder
